About Pathfinder Travels

Pathfinder Travels' idea is rather simple. We want to give you uplifting experiences in spectacular and stunning mountain environments. We do this by arranging bike, ski, trekking and peak climbing trips. We often choose to travel to areas and countries that fill the trip with a cultural dimension and that make the trip experience even greater.

Our trips are very much characterised by how we think it should be to travel. Forget about large groups, tourist traps and traditional travel leaders. Small groups, flexibility and personal service are our trademarks. Since we began in 1999, we have strived to create our own unique trips with Swedish guiding. Pathfinder was among the first in Sweden to arrange ski trips to countries such as Iran and Morocco.

Some of our alpine arrangements can involve some physical and mental stresses and are located in environments that require great safety considerations. But you don’t have to be a well-trained athlete to follow along. The most important is that you like to travel and that you enjoy staying in the mountains on nature’s terms. Through our experienced and professional mountain and travel guides, we guarantee that you will receive exciting and safe mountain experiences with you home. We hope to get the pleasure of travelling with you!

Those of us who run Pathfinder Travels are:

Nicke Sundström

Nicke started Pathfinder together with Pelle Aronsson in 1999. His background is as a historian, but he now works with Pathfinder full-time and operates and is responsible for all travel activities as a whole. Throughout the years, Nicke has skied extensively and done ski touring in Scandinavia, the Alps, New Zealand, the Caucasus Mountains, Morocco, Balkan, Iran and Argentina. He is happiest in the mountains or at sea, and preferably in the company of his family. In recent years, Nicke has spent much time in Morocco, and he will gladly guide trekking journeys into the High Atlas Mountains.

Pelle Aronsson

Pelle has done many long trips all over the world and has a varied past with several different types of work to his credit. At Pathfinder, he works with the Banff Mountain Film Festival and as a travel promoter. He is also involved in developing Pathfinder’s activities and is burning with ideas. Besides travelling and culture, Pelle likes being outdoors with his family. Pelle enjoys skiing, skating, windsurfing and mountain biking. Among others, Pelle guides our ski trips to Ymir in Canada.

Adrian Nordenborg

Adrian is an enthusiastic artist of many talents, with the whole world as his office. He works as a professional travel guide, but has even done numerous extended trips on his own. To date, he has travelled to more than 80 countries, a number that is continually growing. He has guided treks in Morocco, India and Turkey, and ski tours and treks in Iran. You may look at Pathfinder’s trekking guide in Iran, but Adrian also works as a travel promoter and with the Banff Mountain Film Festival as well as being an all-around inspiration.

Mattias Jansson

Mattias comes from Göteborg, but is now living in Trondheim, Norway after several years in Åre. He has studied numerous recreation and mountain leader programs, along with leadership and psychology at the university level. He has a Bachelor in Tourism Management. For many years, Mattias worked as a mountain and course leader in telemark and randonnée skiing at the Sylarna Mountain Station. He will gladly travel on longer trips and is a devoted skier. Since 2002, he has been Pathfinder’s ski guide in Dizin, Iran and knows the area inside and out. Mattias regularly holds avalanche courses and is in demand as a travel guide in several regions.
