
Terms and conditions
Please read carefully the terms in the conditions of contract. In completing and submitting the Booking Form, you agree to be bound by these conditions which constitute the agreement between Pathfinder Travels AB (“PT”) and you.
When you purchase a trip from Pathfinder Travels, it is covered by Swedish consumer legislation, including the Package Travel Act and the Travel Guarantee Act. The agreement between the traveler and Pathfinder Travels is governed by the general terms and conditions below, together with the information published on Pathfinder Travels’ website at the time of booking. Specific information communicated to the traveler regarding changes or additions to the terms stated below is also included in the agreement.
The conditions follow the provisions of the Package Travel Act. Pathfinder Travels is responsible for ensuring that the package tour is carried out correctly as a whole. Furthermore, Pathfinder Travels AB has provided a travel guarantee to the Swedish Legal, Financial, and Administrative Services Agency (Kammarkollegiet). This means that all travelers’ paid amounts for a trip are insured in case Pathfinder Travels goes bankrupt or becomes insolvent between the time of booking and the completion of the trip.
1. The Agreement
1.1 The agreement becomes binding when the traveler confirms their booking and pays the deposit. Once the agreement is binding, the conditions described in the contract apply to both the traveler and the tour operator.
1.2 Verbal promises from Pathfinder Travels that are relevant to the traveler must be noted in the booking confirmation to be enforceable. The traveler must verify that all details in the booking confirmation are correct. Any errors must be reported immediately.
1.3 The traveler is responsible for informing Pathfinder Travels of any changes in address, email address, and phone number.
2. Registration and Payment of the Travel Price
2.1 The price of the trip is listed on the Pathfinder Travels website.
2.2 Deposit
A booking confirmation and an invoice for the deposit, which amounts to 30% of the total travel price, will be sent within three business days from the booking date. The deposit must be paid within 10 days.
2.3 Final Payment
The final payment must be made no later than 50 days before departure. For later registrations, the full travel price must be paid within five days.
3. Cancellation of the Trip
3.1 The traveler has the right to cancel the trip under the following conditions:
- More than 50 days before departure: The deposit is retained.
- Between 50 and 30 days before departure: 75% of the total travel price is retained.
- Less than 30 days before departure: The full travel price is retained.
3.2 Cancellations must be made in writing via email to Pathfinder Travels and confirmed by the tour operator.
3.3 The traveler should have adequate cancellation insurance through an insurance company.
4. Changes and Cancellation of the Trip
4.1 Travel plans may change due to factors such as weather conditions or government decisions. Pathfinder Travels strives to offer equivalent alternatives.
4.2 The travel price may be adjusted if costs increase between booking and final payment. If the price increases by more than 8%, the traveler has the right to cancel the trip at no cost.
4.3 If the minimum number of participants is not met, the trip may be canceled. The traveler can rebook or receive a full refund.
4.4 In the event of a canceled trip, rebooking or a full refund will be offered unless force majeure applies.
5. Transport
Pathfinder Travels does not include flight bookings in its packages. The traveler is responsible for arriving at the designated meeting point.
6. Transfer of the Trip
The traveler may transfer the trip to another person who meets the requirements but is responsible for any additional costs incurred.
7. Traveler’s Responsibilities
7.1 The traveler is responsible for vaccinations, passports, visas, and travel insurance.
7.2 The traveler must comply with the laws and regulations of the destination and show respect for fellow travelers and the local population.
7.3 Pathfinder Travels has the right to terminate a traveler’s participation if they lack the necessary physical capability.
8. Financial Compensation
No compensation is provided in cases of force majeure, delayed arrival, illness, weather-related obstacles, transportation issues, or lost baggage.
9. Accommodation
The price is based on shared double rooms. Single rooms can be booked at an additional cost.
10. Schedule
Departure times are preliminary and will be confirmed no later than 14 days before departure.
11. Documentation
Pathfinder Travels may document trips for marketing purposes. Travelers who do not wish to participate must notify the company in writing.
12. Websites
Pathfinder Travels is only responsible for the information provided on its own website.
13. Complaints
Complaints must be reported immediately to the tour leader and submitted in writing to Pathfinder Travels no later than two months after returning home.
14. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes between the traveler and Pathfinder Travels should be resolved through negotiation.
